About This Site
This site is built with XHTML 1.0 Transitional and uses CSS for presentation, plus some extra behavioural enhancements using Prototype and Scriptaculous.
Behind the scenes is a custom backend built using the CodeIgniter framework, plus extensions from Jamie Rumbelow and Elliot Haughin.
Headings are typeset in Droid Sans and Droid Serif is used for text snippets (e.g. portfolio testimonials), both licensed through TypeKit.
This site was designed in Fireworks and built in Eclipse.

The icons that appear next to comments in the blog are Gravatars. If you don’t already have your own custom Gravatar, you will be given one of ten that have been specially made using Creative-Commons licensed and public domain images, as follows:

I’ve adopted Mugaruka and Chimanuka - two Eastern Lowland gorillas in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Currently there are only about 3000 of these beautiful primates left on our planet and they face constant dangers, including poaching, the exotic pet trade and more.
